'Glenluce and Galloway Flyers' was founded in October 2005 by Aeromodellers Richard Copeland, Douglas Gray and Alastair Young. This photo shows some of the members on the south to north runway.

The flying site has been created by the members, on farmland near Glenluce, twelve miles east of Stranraer, renowned for its mild microclimate.

The club is constantly improving the site for flying the full range of aeromodels. During the winter 07/08, a second east/west runway was created, so that flying in not dependant on wind direction. This year, 2010 we have added a new extension which you can see on the above photo.  Now, grass seed has been sown and it has germinated.

Weather permitting, we fly our models on Saturdays after lunch and on Wednesday evenings.

Wednesday evenings, is the main training time at the club, starting at 6.30. The more experienced members help train beginners to fly their models. The club also helps members to develop the skills to gain their S.A.A. bronze and silver flyers certificates, as shown in the photo below .
